Client: “At least ten per day”
Question: “How much traffic will the above client need to meet his sales goals? Answer: The 2 units per day (current sales) resulting from 400 visits a day would need to be multiplied by five to meet the objective of ten units. Multiply 400 by five and you get: 2000. When you actually graph line like that (going from 400 to 2000) and you will get one of those cheesy 80’s SEO graph showing your traffic skyrocketing because you had changed a META tag in your HTML code. It is unlikely that an SEO program would be able to achieve such spectacular results (although, I must admit I’ve seen them happen).
So what would be the quickest possible solution for the above hypothetical client? That depends. Proper tracking, site analysis, product features, visitor’s navigation through the site should be examined. I had literally seen clients when a change to their product page’s headline would triple the results.
